Hi, I’m Shon (Shonika Hill)
Remedial Massage therapist
“My purpose is to reduce suffering through corrective bodywork”
I’m not here to just rub where it hurts and send you on your way.
I’m interested in why your pain keeps coming back, what your body is compensating for, and what might help it function better. My work is assessment-led and focused on corrective bodywork, using a whole-body lens to piece together what may be going on underneath the symptoms.
I take into account stress, sleep, mental wellbeing, hormones, health conditions, diet, lifestyle and the responsibilities you carry, because all of these can influence how the body copes and recovers. I do not assess or treat those areas directly, but they may help explain why someone is not improving as expected.
If it appears that your issue is not primarily a musculoskeletal, I may suggest that further support, investigation or referral could be helpful.
A real-life example (why I’m so passionate about this)
A few years ago, I developed severe hip pain.
It got so bad I could barely walk. I had to stop exercising completely.
There was no clear injury. Nothing I could point to and say, “Yep — that’s what caused it.”
I did everything:
X-rays
MRIs
Ultrasounds
Massage
Dry needling
Physio
Chiro
Kinesiology
Exercise rehab
Each time, I’d get maybe a day or two of relief, and then the pain would come straight back.
Eventually, I saw a Level 3 NeuroKinetic Therapy practitioner.
He traced my hip pain back to something that seemed completely unrelated:
👉 a scar on my head from an injury I’d had about two months before the hip pain started.
That scar was interfering with my nervous system’s motor control — and my hip was paying the price.
He treated the scar.
The next day, my hip pain was gone.
It never came back.
That was five years ago.
Since then , I made it my lifelong purpose to help others in the same way.
